Derek Liddell - Pick and Mix
Thursdays, 9 - 10pm

Each Thursday Evening Derek Liddell, ably assisted by our Ward Visitor Derek Locke, presents a programme of dedications and requests from patients and staff.

In 1986 he was invited to run, as an experiment, a single-handed airshow radio station associated with what is now the Royal International Air Tattoo.  The experiment proved a success and until hanging up his headphones at the end of 2008 he headed up a team of 6 broadcasting from the airshow at RAF Fairford for 5 days every July.  He was a guest presenter with the British Forces Broadcasting Service during a 4 month detachment to the Falkland Islands in 1987.  In 2003 he was invited to join Moonraker FM for its month long run in Chippenham.  He joined the Station again in 2004 when it broadcast in Trowbridge and remains part of the Moonraker team.

His arrival in the area in 1982 coincided with the formation of Chippenham Hospital Radio.  A founder member, his involvement continues as both broadcaster and chairman.
